Wander by choice.

Let's wander.

"You hear the sound of water... and that's quite as important as anything that I've got to say."
- Alan Watts

Kayaking is our passion.

When we step outside at night and look up to the stars,
When we stand beneath  waterfalls,
When we sit in our kayaks and we lose ourselves to the motion of the water,

we find ourselves.

We immerse ourselves in the experience, finding kindred spirits in the rhythms of Nature.

We remember life is sacred.

We remember there is no difference between us and nature.

We remember we are nature.

We remember,
we...

                        are water.

Nature is continually expressing through an unimaginable diversity.
Her beauty inherently unrestrained and unabashed upon this "pale blue dot", the written word attempts to grasp it, falling short. Every time.

And that,
is where we come in.

Eris Expeditions exists for the single, simple purpose of bringing people to the water and so, closer to ourselves.
Water has and will always be here, an essentiality to all Life.
Water is sacred.
By way of kayak and water, the lines we draw between ourselves and these humbling, awe inspiring havens begin to blur.

Water is the bridge. Navigated by kayak, the spirit of these humbling, awe inspiring worlds is left intact, undisturbed. These expeditions allow us a rare perspective to relax into the natural rhythms of this world and feel it breathing all around us.
Breathing through us.

Taking these words to heart, our process incorporates every individual, crafting a fully integrative experience. What this means is everything from your physique and skill to your motivations and passions, are taken into account.

We value open and steady communication. What that mean is honest introductions, evaluations and focus areas, a detailed walkthrough of our process and how it pertains to you, individual gear selection, and first-hand correspondence directly between you and your guide(s). Our gear selection is extensively tested, reviewed, and approved in house by us here at Eris Expeditions.

Welcome to the adventure.

Let's go.

Storms can push the waves well upwards of 10 feet and there can be ice flows well into spring.

Recommended months:
Late May - Late August

At just over 11,000 years old, Lake Superior is the 2nd largest body of freshwater on the planet. With the generation of her own weather systems, "inland freshwater sea" is more accurate than "Lake". Those same weather systems make expeditions here impossible during the winter and shouldering months.
